Answering the phone is important for any Admin, but it’s crucial when you’re in the All-Japan Phone-Answering Competition for office workers.

More than 12,000 contestants engage in a three-minute conversation.

Scores are based on: impeccable Japanese phone etiquette, good tone, volume, speed, pronunciation, articulation and use of words.

In addition, let’s not forget appropriate pauses between phrases, and remaining friendly – but not overly friendly!
